The videos on this page pertain to organizations that National Rx Security has either contributed financial resources and/or human resources toward. One of our employees spends a couple of weeks a year working alongside her husband filming videos for non-profit organizations, many of which are involved in health and/or healthcare.
Africa Yoga Project
Based in Kenya, Africa Yoga Project works toward supporting physical, mental and emotional health and inspiring positive action to contribute to others. This trailer, filmed in 2010, supplements an Emmy-award winning full-length piece, “Practice: Change,” that was used to raise awareness about the organization’s mission and purpose. About “Practice: Change”
Practice: Change is the story of how one woman’s idea to bring yoga to some of the biggest slums in the world caught on like wildfire and is transforming lives and communities. It centers around the personal transformation of Margaret, a runaway child bride from the slums, who found salvation through yoga and is now a teacher herself.
Four Seasons Compassion for Life
Four Seasons Compassion for Life is a non-profit provider of end of life care based in Flat Rock, North Carolina. In 2013, as part of their global health initiative outreach, Four Seasons sent a team to Zambia with the goal of providing education and support to increase access to palliative care in the medically challenged region. The medical mission team from North Carolina worked closely with doctors and nurses around Zambia, providing cervical cancer screenings as well as palliative care education. As part of the partnership, Four Seasons awarded scholarships for two Zambian healthcare providers to receive extensive specialized training in nearby African nations. This trailer accompanies a full-length piece entitled, “A Unified Presence” which won a 2015 Bronze Telly Award. About “A Unified Presence”
A Unified Presence is a compassionate exploration of the cross-continental partnership between Four Seasons Compassion for Life and the Palliative Care Association of Zambia. Through their collaborative vision, these two organizations aim to educate, support, and provide resources to health care workers in Zambia in the efforts to integrate palliative care – a specialized form of treatment for patients who are seriously ill or who suffer with life-limiting illness. Told through the heart-felt voices of doctors and caregivers, this short documentary is an uplifting reminder of the power of presence.
Sisters of Mercy
Sisters of Mercy Services is a non-profit organization that helps purchase medical equipment for their urgent care facilities in Western North Carolina and has sent relief teams and supplies to Haiti. “Mercy for Haiti” is the name of the video that was filmed during Sisters of Mercy’s 2013 medical mission trip to Haiti. The piece won a 2014 Gold Hermes Award, a 2014 AVA Platinum Award, and a 2014 Bronze Telly Award. About “Mercy for Haiti”
Since the 2010 earthquake that ravaged Haiti, Sisters of Mercy Urgent Care of Western North Carolina has been sending medical teams to provide care, assistance, and support to Haiti’s outlying regions. This video follows a team of five volunteers in the summer of 2013 as they work tirelessly alongside their Haitian partners, Alpha / Omega Medical Ministry, in their fixed and mobile medical clinics.
Above + Beyond Cancer
Above + Beyond Cancer is is a public charity with a mission to elevate the lives of those touched by cancer, to create a healthier world. Based in Des Moines, Iowa, Above + Beyond organizes incredible adventures around the world for cancer survivors and caregivers. The Journey Series is a four-part video series highlighting their transformational work from inception through 2015, giving light to the mission and values upon which the organization was founded and continues to thrive to this day. About the “Journey Series”
Every year since inception, Above + Beyond Cancer invites cancer survivors and caregivers to take part in a physically, mentally, and spiritually empowering journey. Previous trips have included trekking to Everest Base Camp, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, and hiking to Machu Picchu. Combining ambitious goals, survivorship storytelling, and a basis upon which to explore the mind-body-spirit journey of cancer and of life, Above + Beyond Cancer is an organization of inspiration and hope.
